Paintings, Performances, and Points of View

Join us for the opening of Tetiana Kalivoshko: Paintings, Performances, and Points of View, a survey of recent paintings, multimedia work, and performances, some made in collaboration with the Los Angeles art collective Cultural Drifts.

Though Kalivoshko began as a painter, her recent work engages with the political, aesthetic, and sexual dimensions of a world in which technology — and artificial intelligence in particular — has become capable of satisfying desire at scale, rendering the boundary between the real and the simulated increasingly beside the point for millions of people. Her paintings, multimedia work, and performances stage the labor of disentangling the real from the virtual — a task, she reminds us, that art has never stopped performing, from the cave paintings forward.

On Saturday, May 9, Kalivoshko will also stage a recent performance she has been developing.
